Mayotte Business Mission on the Sidelines of the 2nd EU–Mozambique Global Gateway Business Forum
For 3 days in Maputo, within the framework of the 2nd EU–Mozambique Global Gateway Business Forum, Camara de Comercio e Industria França-Moçambique CCIFM had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation of 15 representatives from Mayotte, including the Département-Région de Mayotte, ADIM MAYOTTE, Port de Mayotte, and private sector leaders.
Just off the northern coast of Mozambique lies Mayotte, a French & European territory with strong ambitions to deepen its economic integration within the region. The island is actively exploring opportunities to source agricultural products, water, building materials, logistics services, energy solutions and other strategic resources from Mozambique, while developing mutually beneficial partnerships.
Throughout the mission, the delegation met with key Mozambican stakeholders from agribusiness, logistics, cold chain infrastructure, energy, certification and investment promotion, including Ambassade de France au Mozambique et en Eswatini, Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM), AFRIGOTEL - Armazenagem Frigorífica, SA, Bureau Veritas, HIGEST Moçambique, Lda, TotalEnergies, FUNDEC, APIEX, BNI, The Mozambique Stock Exchange.
Beyond business opportunities, this mission helped identify concrete avenues for cooperation in food security, logistics and maritime connectivity. It also reinforced Mayotte's potential role as a strategic gateway between Europe, Africa and the Indian Ocean region.
CCIFM remains fully committed to transforming these discussions into tangible projects, stronger business ties and long-term economic cooperation between Mozambique and Mayotte.
