Maputo Fast Forward, 10th anniversary edition
Maputo Fast Forward turns ten this year. From ๐ฎ๐ฏ ๐ข๐ฐ๐๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ผ ๐ญ ๐ก๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ, a ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ ๐ฎ becomes a ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฐ๐ถ๐๐ dedicated to innovation, critical thought and creativity: 40+ artists, thinkers and researchers from 11 countries, conferences, exhibitions, masterclasses and a Bazaar showcasing innovative projects from Mozambique and the region.
In ten years, the festival has brought 200 artists from 30 countries to Maputo and trained 500 young Mozambicans in image and digital trades. It has never cancelled an edition, including during the pandemic.
This year, 16NetO CoWork and Cultural Space created 100 people and companies, each contributing at least โฌ1,000.
Why am I sharing this?
French cooperation has supported the festival since its early editions, the Centro Cultural Franco-Moรงambicano is a partner, and the campaign is hosted by the French Arty Farty endowment fund.
Mozambican companies can support 16NetO through a ๐๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฝ, with a local invoice and quantified impact report. A 2025 UNESCO study estimated $176,500 in economic impact, 57 jobs per edition and 90% of spending with Mozambican suppliers.
And remember: for entities taxed in France, donations benefit from a 60% tax reduction โ meaning a โฌ2,500 commitment effectively costs โฌ1,000, while โฌ5,000 costs โฌ2,000. The tax receipt is issued automatically.
This is an opportunity to support ideas and projects around AI, the future of work, education and ecological futures โ while supporting an image of Mozambique that is creative, innovative and forward-looking.
