Mozambique at the Center of Africa’s Strategic Moment in Global Energy Turmoil
Africa holds some of the world’s most significant untapped energy resources. From the offshore gas fields of Mozambique and Senegal to major oil reserves in Angola and Nigeria, the continent’s hydrocarbon potential remains substantial. Mozambique’s massive offshore gas discoveries have already attracted billions of dollars in international investment. Major LNG projects in the Rovuma Basin are expected to significantly expand Africa’s presence in global gas markets once fully operational.
At the same time, established oil exporters such as Angola, Nigeria and Libya continue to supply global markets, reinforcing Africa’s broader role in the international energy system.
These developments come as Europe and Asia actively seek to diversify energy imports following disruptions to traditional supply routes.
