FOSELEV MOZAMBIQUE reaches a key milestone in its development
FOSELEV MOZAMBIQUE has secured a major four-year contract, marking a decisive step forward for our activities in the country. Present in Mozambique for the past 11 years, FOSELEV remains committed to pursuing its development and strengthening its long-term presence in support of the country’s major industrial projects.
This project involves a 350-tonne mobile crane, currently the largest operational crane in Mozambique. Now deployed on the TOTAL Mozambique LNG – Area 1 project, it is operating at the Pemba Bulk Terminal as part of lifting operations related to offshore interconnection works.
Originally from FOSELEV ALSACE, the crane crossed Europe before being shipped from Antwerp to Maputo, and then transferred to our base in Matola.
To meet Mozambican road constraints, the crane was completely reconfigured: removal of the boom, dismantling of stabilizers and accessories, and the fabrication of custom cradles to ensure safe transport on an extendable trailer.
It then traveled more than 2,500 km from Maputo to Pemba, accompanied by ten semi-trailers, following a meticulously planned logistics operation coordinated by Cédric BODET and our local teams. Upon arrival, the crane was reassembled, tested, and recertified before being deployed on site.
The operation of this exceptional crane will be carried out by a fully Mozambican team, trained and certified.
This mobilization illustrates the collective strength of the FOSELEV Group: technical rigor, logistics mastery, and expertise.
