My family emigrated from Mozambique to Canada where I did my school-based education. My return to Africa was in 1993. Since then I have worked at senior-management- and at C-Level in organizations spanning sub-Saharan Africa. The DRC, Angola and South Africa are three of the countries where I put my management skills to good use.

I believe strongly in self-improvement – the continuous kind. My MBA (Distinction) in Strategy and Marketing was completed at WITS University, Johannesburg. Recently, I set out to do a PhD in International Business at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business.

My management approach and business acumen have been shaped by ten years of business (approx. 2005 to 2015) in Africa. My guiding aim has been to reduce the gap between best practice and the African reality. My involvement with Ericsson SA (leading an all Africa team in Multimedia and Systems Integration; a portfolio of 11 Billion SKr ($1.38 BUSD) and my senior leadership and strategic roles in the food-, education-, telecoms- and mining sectors of Mozambique were my ways of illustrating my capacity to lead and to deliver results.

‘Empowering through Leadership’ has been my credo for building a successful management team. I believe strongly in: my business ethics; my personal view on people who work in organizations; challenges as propelling personal growth and development; and my views on corporate citizenship.

It is to a balanced combination of all these beliefs and their implementation that I ascribe my success.
