We are thrilled to extend an exclusive invitation for a joint Chamber of Commerce & Industry France-Mozambique (CCIFM) and American Chamber of Commerce Mozambique (AmCham) event on Mozambique’s economic outlook & business perspectives for 2026, hosted in partnership with Banco Comercial e de Investimentos (BCI).
During this session, Dr Hugo Costa, Head of Financial Markets and Treasury of BCI, will share key insights into Mozambique’s macroeconomic trends, financial outlook, and the opportunities and challenges shaping the country’s business environment in the year ahead. This event will also provide participants with a brief overview of BCI’s Corporate & Investment Banking offering and will be followed by a networking moment.

A few words on Dr Hugo Costa: Hugo is currently Head of Financial Markets and Treasury at BCI, where he focuses on Mozambique’s economic outlook, financial markets, and the regional investment climate. He previously held several senior leadership roles at BCI, including Head of Corporate and Investment Banking, Head of Digital Channels & Electronic Payments, and Head of Specialized Desks & Investment Banking. Before returning to Mozambique in 2008, he spent seven years at Caixa Geral de Depósitos in Portugal, working on various banking projects and functions. Hugo holds a degree in Economics, as well as postgraduate qualifications in Marketing and Banking Management, and completed his primary and secondary education in Maputo.
