Reqwest

In 2014 a client talked with us about a challenge he was facing: He had team members in different continents that needed to purchase goods and equipment and then request the company for reimbursement.

They also were experiencing lack of control in procurement and purchasing.

We started developing the first version of what is today the Reqwest. At the time it was a simple workflow of purchasing and approval, with only one level of approval.

Because we did not have a full team of web coders, we decided to use a low-code fast development tool. In this first version we also developed the integration of the web portal with the ERP Primavera.

All went smoothly for the first two years, but the demands increased and the low-code plaftorm we were using was not enough to continue developing our solution. It was then that we decided to start developping a new version of Reqwest (it did not have this name yet…) from zero. We recruited more coders and started a new project using technologies such as Java and Angular, and with this we got full control of the solution we were developing.

In 2018 started a new cycle, the needs of the client increased exponentially with the growth of their business. We started working on a list of over 100 items for new and improved functionalities. Things like multiple levels of aproval, stock information by product, better management of the avaiable stock in the client’s warehouses to avoid unecessary purchases, intercompany operations, dashboard, multi-language and an integrated message system.

It was then that we realized Reqwest could be useful in other companies and started talking to our clients about it. It was with great satisfaction that we were able to help companies in different sectors such as industry, transports, logistics, education and bank reducing their costs, with less waste in their warehouses and procurement and purchasing processes.

The next steps will be the integration with the other ERP more used in Portugal and PALOPs, the developing of aproval workflow functionalities for human resources deparments, and developing artificial intelligence to help managers predict and plan needs.
