Mozambique LNG project supports post-flood recovery

The Mozambique LNG project, operated by TotalEnergies EP Mozambique Area 1 Limitada, has on Tuesday signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with three civil society organisations as part of the post-flood recovery phase, providing approximately 145.5 million meticais in financial support to assist communities affected by the floods that occurred in late 2025 and early 2026 in several provinces of Mozambique.
The MoUs were signed with MAHLAHLE – Association for the Promotion and Development of Women, the Mozambican Caritas Association, and World Vision International-Mozambique, formalising partnerships aimed at supporting approximately 180,000 people in the provinces of Gaza, Maputo and Inhambane.
The interventions will focus on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), education, agriculture and livelihoods, food security, and the protection of women and children.
These partnerships complement the support previously provided by the Mozambique LNG project to the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (INGD) as part of the emergency response to the floods, which included the delivery of food supplies, hygiene kits and medical and sanitary items to affected populations.
