Mozambique 2026: Economic & Business Outlook April 15th, 2026
'Mixed feelings' — that’s how Mozambique’s economic outlook for 2026 can best be described. On April 15th, Camara de Comercio e Industria França-Moçambique CCIFM and AmCham Mozambique brought together their members and partners at BCI - Banco Comercial e de Investimentos (Moçambique/Mozambique) in Maputo for a joint event focused on the country’s Economic & Business Outlook.
Following opening remarks by Crystelle Coury (CCIFM) and Nélia Gomes (AmCham), and a welcome by BCI’s Administrator Luis Marques Aguiar, the bank’s Head of Financial Markets & Treasury Hugo Costa delivered a sharp and insightful message: Mozambique stands at a crossroads — where fiscal pressure, growth ambitions, and social cohesion must move forward together.
Challenges are real — but so is the potential. From structural constraints to major energy projects shaping the future, the path ahead is complex, yet full of opportunity. As a business community, we stay optimistic and believe in Mozambique’s massive potential & the many opportunities it holds!
Moments like these remind us why dialogue matters, and how by bringing people together & sharing perspectives, we can explore how to collectively contribute to Mozambique’s sustainable economic future.
An IMMENSE thank you to BCI - Banco Comercial e de Investimentos (Moçambique/Mozambique) for hosting us in their beautiful venue, and to all participants for the engaging discussions!
