Business Breakfast “Meet the (new) CEO” of TotalEnergies
The Camara de Comercio e Industria França-Moçambique CCIFM had the pleasure of welcoming its members for an exclusive "MeetTheCEO" Business Breakfast with Jean-Pascal Clémençon, Country Chair of TotalEnergies in Mozambique at the Hotel Cardoso in Maputo.
The event provided a unique opportunity for our members to hear directly from the leader of one of the most significant investments currently underway in Africa: Projecto Mozambique LNG.
While many of us are familiar with the project's strategic importance for Mozambique & global energy markets, nothing quite prepares you for the scale of Afungi... The sheer size of the infrastructure, the complexity of the operations, and the thousands of people currently working on site make it clear why Projecto Mozambique LNG is considered one of the largest energy projects ever undertaken on the African continent.
Particularly impressive is the scale of local participation, with around 5000 Mozambicans currently contributing to the project, alongside extensive socio-economic initiatives, training programmes, and community development efforts. The commitment to LocalContent & long-term impact is evident throughout the project.
During the discussion, Mr Clémençon engaged with our business community and shared insights into the project's progress & future outlook. He highlighted the many businessopportunities across the value chain
✅ whether in onshore, offshore, maritime or subsea operations
✅ either directly with TotalEnergies & the Mozambique LNG project
✅ or through the main EPC contractors responsible for the onshore works (CCSJV consortium with Saipem & Mc Dermott International Inc) and offshore activities (TechnipFMC & Van Oord consortium).
MERCI BEAUCOUP to Jean-Pascal Clémençon & team for their openness, availability, and continued engagement with the French-Mozambican business community.
