BRGM

The Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières (BRGM) is France’s leading public institution in Earth sciences, bringing together 1,100 expert and dedicated professionals across 29 entities located in mainland France and overseas territories. BRGM’s mission focuses on geological knowledge and understanding phenomena related to the ground and subsoil, with the goal of addressing environmental change challenges through innovative projects with strong societal impact.

As part of a cooperation between BRGM and the Ministry of Public Works, Directorate of Water Resources of Mozambique, funded by AFD, BRGM is responsible for studying an aquifer that could be used to supply water to a district of Maputo.
