Turning momentum into opportunities
Dear Members,
As we move towards the final quarter of the year, momentum is building across Mozambique’s business community.
Investment projects are progressing, new opportunities are emerging, and Mozambique continues to position itself as a regional hub. At the same time, this momentum requires adaptability: developing local skills, anticipating regulatory developments, strengthening infrastructure and logistics, and managing new technologies.
This is where I believe the CCIFM has a role to play: connecting businesses, sharing useful information and helping our members turn opportunities into concrete partnerships.

🇫🇷🇲🇿 France & Mozambique: strengthening cooperation
The meeting between French Minister Catherine Vautrin and Mozambican Defence Minister Cristóvão Artur Chume reflects the continued development of France-Mozambique cooperation. The bilateral exchange, held in September, is another reminder of the depth and continuity of the relationship between our two countries.
Beyond institutional dialogue, the challenge is to translate this relationship into practical partnerships and long-term value for both countries.

🚀 From potential to local capacity
The development of Mozambique’s northern and energy-related projects raises an important question: does the country have the training infrastructure and technical capacity needed to support the next phase of development?
During our recent discussions with companies active in the energy sector, the shortage of specialised training organisations in the North — particularly for Oil & Gas — was highlighted, as well as the limited availability of practical workshops and technical facilities.
This represents both a challenge and an opportunity.
Developing training centres, technical workshops and specialised services closer to the projects could contribute to local skills development while creating new business opportunities. It may also be an area where companies can join forces and share risks through collaborative initiatives.
For the CCIFM, this is an area worth exploring further with our members and partners.

🚢 Trans-Log Moz 2026: connecting the region
Transport and logistics are essential to Mozambique’s ambition to strengthen its role as a regional trade gateway. Ports, railways, roads, aviation and trade corridors all contribute to connecting Mozambique with neighbouring markets and international supply chains.
On 4–5 November, Maputo will host TRANS-LOG MOZ 2026, bringing together government representatives, investors, operators, project developers and logistics professionals around the development of Mozambique’s transport and logistics sector. The event is organised by AME Trade Mozambique, and the CCIFM is pleased to be an Official Partner.
This partnership gives CCIFM members a direct connection to a sector central to Mozambique’s economic development. Members will benefit from a 10% discount on exhibition stand bookings and delegate passes.
We encourage companies active in transport, logistics, infrastructure, trade facilitation and related services to look at the programme and identify where the event could support their business development. See dedicated section below.

📍 Opportunities beyond Maputo
The opportunities emerging in Mozambique are not limited to the capital.
From October 8 to 10, the Tete International Investment Conference will bring together public and private stakeholders around investment opportunities in the province. The CCIFM has been asked to share information on the participation of our members, and we will be pleased to highlight the companies from our network taking part.
This is another illustration of the value of our network: helping make the presence of our members’s companies more visible within Mozambique’s different regional business ecosystems.

💻 Cybersecurity for Business Leaders: a Practical Approach
Cybersecurity can be complex and expensive. The challenge is knowing what the main risks are and where to focus time and investment.
On 15 October from 08:30 to 10:30 a.m., the CCIFM will organise a dedicated masterclass with Bubble Cloud on Cybersecurity, an increasingly important subject for companies of every size and sector.
This practical workshop aims to help senior managers understand the vulnerabilities that can affect business systems and servers, how organisations can identify areas of exposure, and the practical steps they can take to improve their security at a reasonable cost. Learn, exchange and build the right cybersecurity habits and reflexes.

📊 Understanding a changing regulatory environment
The business environment is also evolving from a regulatory perspective.
Mozambique has recently introduced significant changes to its tax framework, affecting Corporate Income Tax, VAT and Personal Income Tax, with new implementing regulations approved in September.
Our September CFO Club, organised with Sal & Caldeira, provided an opportunity for members to discuss these developments and their practical implications. CCIFM will continue to create opportunities on practical knowledge-sharing between professionals.

🌍 Business with purpose: two CCIFM initiatives
CCIFM is highlighting two selected and supported initiatives that reflect our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, culture and education.
FRANCOTECA is a mobile library initiative led by Chapateca and selected through the French Embassy’s call for projects. Supported by CEVA, ECOLOG, HURETEK, OLEA, PONTICELLI and SINTAGMA, it brings French-language books and educational activities to public secondary schools in Maputo. As its initial 12-month funding period runs until March 2027, we encourage partners to consider how they could help sustain the initiative beyond its first phase.
MAPUTO FAST FORWARD, celebrating its 10th anniversary from 23 October to 1 November, brings together digital arts, innovation, critical thinking, AI and technology. Through 16NetO, companies can participate in a dedicated CSR and sponsorship programme, with opportunities for visibility and engagement around the festival.
FRANCOTECA and Maputo Fast Forward are two very different projects, but they share an important principle: business can contribute to Mozambique’s development beyond its immediate commercial activities. Detailed information in the dedicated sections below.

🌐 Connecting Mozambique with the wider French business network
The CCIFM is also part of a wider international network.
Through our links with CCI France International and Team France Export, our members can access initiatives, expertise and business opportunities beyond Mozambique.
Among the upcoming opportunities is Ambition Africa, taking place in Paris on 24–25 November, bringing together French and African companies through sectoral discussions, B2B meetings and networking opportunities.
For Mozambican companies looking to develop relationships with French partners — and for French companies seeking to strengthen their African footprint — these platforms complement the connections being developed locally through the CCIFM.
