Mozambique: Port of Beira oil terminal gets 50 million meticais rehabilitation

The Mozambican Railways [CFM] (Central) company is investing around fifty million meticais in the rehabilitation of the Port of Beira oil terminal, which was damaged by Cyclone Idai.

Work, which covers other terminals damaged in last year’s natural disaster, started in March and ends this month.

Speaking this Wednesday during a visit by the Sofala Secretary of State, Stela Pinto Novo Zeca, CFM-Centro executive director Augusto Abudo said that, despite the destruction of port infrastructure, cargo handling capacity had not been affected.

The Sofala Secretary of State welcomed the ongoing efforts to rehabilitate the Port of Beira from the damage caused by Cyclone Idai.
